The Andhra Pradesh Labour Welfare Fund is a statutory contribution made towards the welfare of workers in the state. These funds are utilized by the Labour Welfare Board to provide various facilities such as housing, medical care, education, recreational facilities, and other social security measures.
Applicability of LWF in Andhra Pradesh
Under the Andhra Pradesh Labour Welfare Fund Act, the fund is mandatory for all establishments employing one or more employees. It is applicable to all categories of employees, except:
- Those employed primarily in managerial positions
- Apprentices under the Apprentices Act
- Part-time workers
Contribution Structure
The Labour Welfare Fund contributions are made annually and are shared between the employer and employee.
